Cybercrime is handled by the Anti-Cyber Crime Directorate, part of the Ministry of Interior's General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security.
Ways to report
- Call the hotline on 992, or the directorate on 17108000.
- Fill in the online report form on the directorate's website. It asks for your name, CPR number, details of the case, the names of any accounts or people involved, and a contact number.
- Visit your nearest police station, or the Anti-Cyber Crime Directorate in Adliya.
What to have ready
- Screenshots of messages, posts or profiles.
- Links and usernames of the accounts involved.
- Dates and times of what happened.
- Any bank transfer details if you lost money.
If money left your account
Call your bank straight away as well, so it can try to stop or trace the payment.
What people miss
Don't delete the messages or the account conversations before you report. They are your evidence.
Steps
- Save screenshots, links, usernames and transfer details.
- Call 992 or use the online report form (or go to a police station).
- If money was taken, call your bank immediately.
