If nobody is hurt and the only damage is to the vehicles, the drivers can report the accident themselves in the Traffic app instead of waiting for the police.
How it works
- Open the Traffic app, go to the traffic accident services and choose the accident reporting service.
- The app asks if anyone is injured. If you say yes, it tells you to call 199 (the Traffic Inquiry Center) and you cannot continue in the app.
- Choose who is reporting. If the driver whose car was damaged reports, the at-fault driver must then confirm it in the app's acknowledgement service. If the at-fault driver reports, they confirm at the end.
- Enter the details and attach photos that clearly show both vehicles and their number plates. Make sure the plate type and number are typed correctly.
- Submit. A report number is sent to everyone involved. Processing takes about 1 working day.
After reporting
All drivers should go to the at-fault driver's insurance company within 48 hours.
Conditions
- Both drivers must agree on what happened.
- The vehicles must have valid civil liability insurance.
Steps
- Make sure no one is injured; otherwise call 199.
- Take clear photos showing both vehicles and their plates.
- Report in the Traffic app and have the at-fault driver acknowledge.
- Visit the at-fault driver's insurer within 48 hours.
