What are the national exams for Grade 9 and Grade 12 in Bahrain?

The Education & Training Quality Authority (BQA) runs national exams for students in Grade 9 and Grade 12 at schools across Bahrain. They test skills and knowledge from Bahrain's national curriculum against international standards.

Subjects

• Grade 9: Arabic, English, Mathematics and Science.
• Grade 12: Arabic, English and Mathematical Skills.

Getting ready: the BQA website has past papers, test specifications (what each exam covers) and sample questions.

Results are published through Bahrain.bh.

The catch: these are separate from school end-of-year exams and from foreign curricula such as IGCSE or IB. Ask your school whether and when your child's grade sits them, and use the BQA specifications rather than school worksheets to see what will be tested.

Steps

1. Check with the school whether your child's grade sits the national exams this year.
2. Download the test specifications and sample questions from the BQA site.
3. Look up results on Bahrain.bh once published.
