For expatriates in the private sector, the end of service gratuity is now paid through the Social Insurance Organization (SIO), not handed over by the employer at the end. Your employer pays a monthly contribution for it: 4.2% of your monthly wage for each of your first three years and 8.4% after that. How much: 15 days' pay for each of your first three years, then one month's pay for each year after that. Pay here means your last basic salary plus the social allowance if you get one; housing, transport and other allowances are not counted. It is paid as one lump sum, never in instalments. How to claim: apply on the SIO website as soon as your job ends, signed in with an Advanced level eKey, and attach a copy of your bank account details.
