Mosques, churches & temples · Manama, Bahrain
A Hindu temple founded in 1817 inside Manama Souq, one of the oldest in the Gulf.
Two centuries of Bahrain's Indian community, in the heart of the souq.
Established in 1817 by the Thattai Bhatia (Thattai Hindu) community migrating from Sindh, the temple was built with the full blessings of Bahrain's Royal Family. Dedicated to Lord Shrinathji—a manifestation of Lord Krishna as a seven-year-old child—the temple stands as a testament to the long-standing friendly relations and interfaith harmony between India and Bahrain
